This alternator is a full-effort 320 amp unit designed for hardcore enthusiasts who want the highest peak alternator output possible. This unit has a custom internal voltage regulator preset to 14.9 volts cold, (approximately 14.5 volts hot) that will require the installer to solder in the provided alternator pigtail. Because this unit charges slightly higher than the original voltage setpoint, the “check battery” light will stay on in the dash. This 320 amp S Series alternator is designed for maximum output at 2,000 RPM engine speed, and will not charge well at engine idle RPM speeds below 800 rpm. If you are looking for maximum output below 800 RPM engine speed, or for the “check battery light” to work normally, please look at our 240 amp version. This hairpin alternator offers incredible output in a compact and durable package. 12 diodes, twin rectifier pure copper rectifier plates and outstanding airflow ensure long service life, even in severe conditions. This alternator provides 320 amps at cruising speed, and 140 amps of power at 800 RPM engine speed with an OEM 3:1 pulley ratio.
Installation notes:
This alternator comes with a 1.75" diameter pulley and may require a belt slightly shorter than stock length in order to maintain proper belt tension. It will also require the supplied pigtail to be wired to an ignition switched 12V+ source.

2 year performance guarantee.
This limited two year warranty allows the customer to return his or her MechMan alternator for repair for a full two years after the alternator purchase date. This warranty does not cover other parts or equipment on the vehicle, and does not cover labor for removal or installation of the alternator. This warranty is VOID if the MechMan alternator is modified, physically abused, misused, improperly installed, or is not used in the application for which it was designed. The MechMan two year warranty is non-transferrable. The customer must include a copy of the original invoice when sending in their alternator in order to receive warranty service. The customer is responsible for shipping the alternator to the Mechman facility for warranty service, Mechman will pay return shipping back to the customer for all alternators under warranty. As an added service, MechMan will also service any MechMan alternator of any age or condition for the cost of parts and return shipping. (We provide the labor to repair the alternator for free!)
FAQ
We always reccomend a big 3 kit for every vehicle, regardless of the system. However, if you plan on running more than 1,500 watts we reccomend a good AGM battery underhood, and then from there more power will need more electrical upgrades depending on power.
